GARMENT GROUP PLANS FUN SUMMER

After the May 8 meeting, the Common Threads garment group stayed to discuss their projects for the next several months. The Anita Mayer workshops inspired lots of ideas and using the skills and techniques that Anita taught ,we each plan on developing our own wearable creations. During the next few months since the meetings are suspended , we will share ideas via this blog. Any other Common Thread member is encouraged to send pics on projects as well. Let us hear about what everyone is up to!!

Rose Young's Weaving Class

On Monday May 7th, 15 women got together and had a fabulous time
learning triangular weaving from Rose Young.

Carolyn Hamilton brought a large weaving from a previous class to show at our May 8 meeting.  Now she's happily making two-one large & one small.

Good News from member Patricia Turner

Patricia has been chosen to join 11 other very well known art quilter's to exhibit her work "Cypress Knees". The exhibit is titled "Season's Challenge" and will be traveling for 18 months at various venues around the country. Just in case you don't have the opportunity to view her work in person, her piece is featured in 'Machine Quilters Unlimited' magazine where there is also a write up about Patricia and her piece. She says that she is very humbled by being chosen to join this well respected group, but we all know she's that good! The magazine is available now and you can access the travel schedule at www.mqumag.com

More good news from Debra Paradise
Debra entered an online "baby doll" challenge. Her sweet baby doll is TWO INCHES small. It's adorable. Hope you bring her to a Common Threads meeting soon.
